Police Traffic RADAR CertificationThe Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy will present a Police Traffic RADAR Certification. This course is designed to certify the student/officer in the proper testing, setup, and operation of the police traffic radar. This course is based on the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration's Basic Training Program in RADAR Speed Measurement. The course will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Academy. The tuition for this course includes all notebooks, handouts and refreshments. Subject areas that will be included in this course include:
The course will include practical work estimating and measuring speeds in both a moving (opposite direction) and stationary mode. The student will need to bring a department RADAR unit and tuning forks for the practical applications of the course. The course will include a written exam. Each student will have to score a minimum of 70% on the written exam and successfully complete the practical applications to receive certification. This cost of this course is $50.00.

If for some reason you are unable to attend the course and we are not informed of your cancellation by fax, e-mail, or letter, you will still be invoiced the full tuition fee.
